Hi friends! Many of you already know us, and many more soon will—but allow us to introduce ourselves. We’re Joe and Cassy Burk, and together with our teenage son, Clay, we’re the family behind Burk’s BBQ!
How It Started
Joe, like a lot of guys, has always loved being outside in the warm summer air, lighting a fire, and cooking up a good meal for the family. Hot dogs, brats, burgers, steaks, chicken—you name the protein, he’d grill it!
But soon, the passion grew. Smoking, grilling, open fire pits, flat tops—he began experimenting with techniques, styles, and, of course, flavor. From savory seasonings and zesty marinades to bold brines and sauces, Joe dove headfirst into the world of BBQ.
Eventually, the grill never cooled—he was smoking meat year-round, even in snowstorms, just to serve up a smoky Christmas feast! Ribs, brisket, spatchcock chicken—it was all amazing, but pulled pork quickly became the family favorite.
So much so that Joe pitched the idea of a pulled pork fundraiser for the RV Gearheads #7814 Robotics Team—and it was a huge hit, selling out in under two hours! Additional fundraisers followed and sold out just as quickly. Seeing how much people enjoyed the food sparked a simple question:
"What if we shared this with more people?"
Where It’s Going
So, Joe and his incredibly talented, supportive, and beautiful wife (who may or may not be the one writing this) decided it was time to take things to the next level—and Burk’s BBQ was born.
With encouragement and support from family, friends, and our community, Burk's BBQ officially launched in the summer of 2025.
We're excited to continue growing, meeting new people, and sharing our love of BBQ with the communities we serve.
